Casie H. Morgan, PhD, is a clinical psychologist whose work focuses on traumatic stress, family systems, and behavioral health among children and adolescents. At the Medical University of South Carolina’s National Crime Victims Research & Treatment Center, she conducts research and provides clinical care aimed at improving outcomes for individuals and families affected by trauma and violence. Her work emphasizes prevention, early intervention, and community-based approaches to addressing trauma across the lifespan.
Dr. Morgan’s research examines the behavioral and social factors that influence trauma exposure and recovery, particularly among youth and high-risk populations. Her projects include studies on mental health and trauma trends in adolescents, trauma-informed care in postpartum populations, and the evaluation of behavioral health interventions delivered in trauma-focused clinical settings. She also contributes to national initiatives studying mass violence, first responder mental health, and community responses to traumatic events.
Clinically, Dr. Morgan is trained in several evidence-based trauma treatments, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure. Her work integrates family-centered care and culturally informed interventions to support children, caregivers, and communities affected by trauma. Through her research, clinical work, and community engagement, Dr. Morgan aims to improve trauma-informed care and expand access to effective behavioral health services for vulnerable populations
