Barbara J. Coffey, MD, MS is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She also serves as Division Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Director of the University of Miami TAA Center of Excellence. Dr. Coffey is an internationally recognized expert in tics, Tourette’s Disorder, and related conditions including ADHD, OCD, and pediatric anxiety disorders.
Her distinguished academic career includes leadership roles at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Harvard Medical School, and New York University School of Medicine. She has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed manuscripts, abstracts, and book chapters, and her research focuses on the clinical course, comorbidity, and novel treatments of Tourette’s Disorder and associated psychiatric conditions.
