Dr. Ximena Sanchez-Samper |
Ximena Sanchez-Samper, MD, is a board-certified addictions psychiatrist. She trained at the Mayo Clinic and completed an addictions fellowship through the combined MGH-McLean Hospital Addictions Fellowship. Dr. Sanchez-Samper has worked with adolescents, young adults, and adults with substance use disorders at Boston Children’s Hospital and McLean Hospital, where she previously served as medical director for The Brook Residence and the 3East Mill Street Residence.
Dr. Sanchez-Samper’s clinical interests include incorporating medication-assisted treatment (MAT) into the care of patients struggling with addiction. Her published work includes a chapter on adolescent opioid use in the Handbook of Office-Based Buprenorphine Treatment of Opioid Dependence, as well as a peer-reviewed article on adolescent substance use disorders in Pediatrics in Review. Dr. Sanchez-Samper is an instructor in psychiatry, part-time, at Harvard Medical School, and lectures throughout the country on the identification, diagnosis, and treatment of substance use disorders.
