Charles DeBattista, DMH, MD is a Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine, where he directs the Stanford Depression Research Clinic and co-leads the Mood Disorders Clinics. He is a nationally recognized expert in the treatment of depression, with a particular focus on treatment-resistant mood disorders.
Dr. DeBattista’s research centers on advancing novel therapies for major depressive disorder, including pharmacologic innovations, neurostimulation approaches, and emerging treatments such as psilocybin. He serves as principal investigator on multiple clinical trials evaluating new interventions for depression and has published extensively in the fields of mood disorders and psychopharmacology. In addition to his research contributions, Dr. DeBattista has received multiple awards for excellence in medical student education and is deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of psychiatrists at Stanford.
