Dr. Bukstein’s research focuses on developmental and environmental factors that contribute to substance use and behavioral disorders in youth, as well as the development and dissemination of evidence-based treatments, including family-based and cognitive-behavioral interventions. An accomplished educator and author, he has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications, textbooks, and clinical guidelines that have shaped the field of pediatric psychiatry.
Through his leadership at Boston Children’s Hospital, Dr. Bukstein remains deeply committed to advancing high-quality mental health care for young people and promoting collaborative, prevention-focused approaches to treatment.
