Katrina DeBonis, MD
Dr. Katrina DeBonis is an accomplished psychiatrist and Associate Health Sciences Clinical Professor at UCLA, where she also serves as the Medical Director of UCLA Student Behavioral Health Services. Her extensive education includes a B.S. in Brain and Cognitive Science from MIT and an M.D. from the New York University School of Medicine, followed by a residency in psychiatry at UCLA.
Dr. DeBonis is highly regarded for her leadership in medical education, having held positions such as Director of Residency Education and Vice Chair of Education in the UCLA Department of Psychiatry. She has also played a pivotal role in initiatives such as the Pragmatic Trial of Psilocybin Therapy in Palliative Care and research on moral injury among medical students. Her expertise spans multiple areas, including the management of borderline personality disorder, menopause and mental health, and the use of psychedelics in psychiatric treatment. Dr. DeBonis is recognized for her contributions to both clinical practice and academic psychiatry, receiving numerous awards, including the UCLA Exceptional Physician Award and the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching.
