Dr. Sanjaya Saxena is an internationally recognized expert in the diagnosis and treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Obsessive-Compulsive Related Disorders, including body dysmorphic disorder, hoarding disorder, trichotillomania, and excoriation disorder. He is the Director of the San Diego Center for Obsessive-Compulsive & Related Disorders and Director of Clinical and Research Affairs at the International OCD Foundation.
A Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at UC San Diego, Dr. Saxena’s research has advanced the understanding of the neurobiology and pharmacologic treatment of refractory OCD and related conditions. He has also contributed to education and treatment strategies for mood disorders linked to hormonal changes, including premenstrual dysphoric disorder. A Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a Fellow of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology, Dr. Saxena has authored over 100 scientific publications and is a frequent national speaker on cutting-edge treatments for complex anxiety and obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders. |
