What is WM course about?
The course covers different areas of financial management. Topics include Introduction to Financial Management, Retirement Planning and Spending, Saving, Investing, Insurance for Your Financial Plan, and Estate Planning and Asset Protection. The 9+ hours allow a wide range of topics to be covered in substantial detail.
How will it help me?
The course will help you to create a financial plan and help you avoid making bad financial decisions. This course is a good fit whether or not you already work with a financial planner. If you already have one, you’ll learn to ask better questions and know your range of investment options and their pros and cons. If you don’t yet have a financial planner, you’ll learn how to vet your financial planner candidates more carefully.

Will there be an individual one-on-one session?
One-on-one sessions are not available. The speakers are willing to answer any questions you may have via email. You can reach out to each speaker via the email provided in the presentation.
Are there any downsides to this course?
This course is a general overview of investing and wealth management to help you better understand the relevant knowledge landscapes. These are complex matters, however, and you should work with your own wealth management team when making consequential financial decisions. A potential downside from taking this course is to come to believe you know more than you do and to make decisions based on incomplete understanding. So, although you will learn a lot from this course, individual investment advice is still necessary for most people.
Does this course include CME credits?
No. This course does not meet criteria for AMA PRA Category 1 CME Credits because it does not focus on patient care.
Dr. Jack’s Concern and Request
I wanted to get this course developed and out to you and all our colleagues for a long time. I have personally had several investment horror stories shared with me by my physician colleagues, horrible financial losses borne of ignorance of the benefits and risks involved. One theme is trust placed in a financial advisor who was not ethical and, some of the time, not even properly credentialed. One topic I asked be covered in this course is how to more wisely vet and monitor a financial advisor you already work with or one you may choose in the future.
